LED Ceiling Lights for the Kitchen

Guide to Ceiling Lights in the Kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of every home, a place where functionality and design come together. A well-chosen ceiling light can help create a bright and inviting atmosphere that makes both cooking and dining together enjoyable. At Briloner, you will find a wide selection of ceiling lights specially designed for kitchens that not only provide functional lighting but also serve as stylish design elements.

Lighting Recommendations for the Kitchen:

For kitchens, we recommend a lighting level of around 400 to 600 lumens per square meter. A light temperature of 3000K to 4000K provides a bright and functional work environment, ideal for cooking and other kitchen tasks. Make sure the lights are moisture-resistant to ensure durability in the often humid kitchen environment.

Lighting for the Kitchen Island:

A kitchen island is a central feature in many modern kitchens and deserves special attention when it comes to lighting. Here are some tips for lighting your kitchen island:

• Pendant lights: Pendant lights are similar to hanging lamps but often offer a more modern design. They are ideal for creating a cozy atmosphere above the kitchen island. Choose pendant lights that are height-adjustable to perfectly adapt the lighting to your needs.

Installation Zones and Protection Classes:

In the kitchen, there are different installation zones that, depending on their proximity to water sources, require different protection classes for the lights:

• Zone 1: Directly above the sink or other water sources. Lights with at least IP44, which are splash-proof, are required here.
• Zone 2: Within 60 cm of Zone 1. Lights with at least IP44, which are splash-proof, are also required here.
• Zone 3: Outside Zone 2, where there is no direct risk of splashing water. Lights with IP20 are sufficient here and do not need special moisture protection.
